Our history

We have been building in Slovakia since 2010. Despite our humble beginnings as a small company, we have been one of the most modern and progressive developers in Slovakia.

We have established ourselves on the market, particularly by always offering our customers a healthier alternative and higher housing standards.

From day one, we have tasked ourselves with making each new project a step better than the last. From smaller projects in our early days, we gradually grew and moved towards larger and more ambitious developments in cooperation with the biggest names in world’s architecture and urbanism. Throughout the years, we have successfully revitalized multiple brownfields in Bratislava, converting them into vibrant urban neighbourhoods.

We solidified our position as leaders in ecological development by obtaining a certification for constructing the most environmentally friendly building in Slovakia and Slovenia, where we operate since 2018.. In 2022, we have also opened our office in Prague, Czechia.

Living Full of Fantasy – The Art of Dúbravy

Igor Bubeník

At Corwin, we believe that our buildings should bring more to people. In addition to a healthy and green living environment, we always try to create some space for art. Therefore, we involved eight Slovak artists in the Dúbravy project, who enlivened the buildings with their unique mosaics. Now it is immediately apparent that each of these buildings has gained its own special identity. What they have in common is childhood, playfulness and imagination.

Artists and their mosaics

When thinking about the motif, I focused on people and their daily worries. Mosaic Úlet, depicting a child with balloons, should elevate people and detach them from those worries and responsibilities.

A return to art

Before 1989, art was a natural part of Slovak housing estates, but with the advent of reconstruction and insulation, this custom was abandoned. In many European cities, art is an integral part of modern architecture, which makes urban living and atmosphere more pleasant. The project Dúbravy used more than 30,000 tiles for its mosaics and brought art back to life in the urban neighbourhood.

Erik Šille - Maco

I like to create for the public space. I feel like I can get out of my bubble and show my work to other people.

Unique signature

Each of the artists chose a motif that is close to them and gave their mosaic a unique style. Although they are united in their method of depiction and choice of colours typical for the children’s world, each of them represents an individual personal expression and gives this group of art a heart.

Eva Činčalová - Nebo

Art is an established element of contemporary architecture in many European cities. This is a consequence of systematic thinking about the quality of architecture, the urban environment and housing. The construction is not just spontaneous and attractive. There is more to quality projects and art is the added value. Its significance lies in the fact that it reflects the image of the community, thinking and time.

Something more

Dúbravy represents the first project of its kind in Slovakia and thanks to its art it has become, so to speak, a gallery in a public space. In addition to beautiful common areas for sports and relaxation, the inhabitants of Dúbravy have something more thanks to the unique art on their homes.

Dorota Sadovská - Mama a ja

We understand that the use of quality materials or nearby civic amenities are no longer enough to improve housing. Therefore, in addition to the ecological element – green roofs – we also try to give each of our projects an aspect of art.

A gift for all ages

Children as well as adults should make space for imagination in their lives and not be afraid to dream. We hope that the inhabitants of Dúbravy will appreciate this art in their neighbourhood and proudly call it their home.
